2025 Funeral Olympics
Saturday, August 23rd at Dimond & Shannon Mortuary.
Located at 106030 Chapman Avenue, Garden Grove.
9am - Opening Ceremonies
10am – Olympic Events
12pm – Lunch
1pm – Awarding of Medals and Closing Ceremonies
We are thrilled to host our very first OCFDA Funeral Olympics! Get ready to compete in Olympic style events unique to our industry, such as: Rental Casket Race, Floral Arrangement Obstacle Course, 3 Legged Unionall Race and more!
This is a team-based event. With that said, there are some specific parameters for registering for this event. Please read below before registering.
If you are registering multiple people when purchasing tickets, we will put you on the same team together.
If you are registering individually and there are other registrants that you would like to be on the same team with, you must notate this in the drop down menu when registering. (Friendly reminder that we are funeral directors, not psychics. If you don’t notate this when registering, we have absolutely no way of knowing who you want on your team.)
If you are registering individually and do not have a team preference, no worries! We will assign you to a team.
Once registration is closed, team assignments will be confirmed and are final. If you did not notate who you wanted to be on a team with when registering, take this as an opportunity to get to know some new faces. Teams are final and will not be reassigned; this is to ensure fairness for all participants.
In preparation for the event, you will receive an email the day prior with your group number and the list of your fellow team members. When you arrive at the event, you will be directed to your fellow team members.
Team names will be picked at the beginning of the event by each team as well as a “National Anthem” (ie. theme song) for each team. Your “National Anthem” will be played during opening ceremonies and during the medal awarding ceremonies for all teams that win gold.
